Who am I

In the course of duty he exposed security loopholes in Facebook and gave the first TV demonstration of a botnet, showing the power hackers have over infected PCs. In his speech Spencer considers the importance of technology in the developing world – where innovation is forged out of necessity: water pumps in Kenya now report breakages by text message.

Spencer Kelly is a presenter of Click, the consumer technology show for BBC World and the BBC News Channel. Prior to this, he worked on Five's The Gadget Show.

Having studied Computer Science at Cambridge for three years, Spencer made the transition into broadcasting and presented the breakfast radio show for Ocean FM, part of the Capital Radio Group, for six years before joining the BBC. In this capacity, Spencer has interviewed a wide cross-section of celebrities from Sir David Attenborough to Phil Collins.
